Schools
'I want our resources to benefit as many teachers & children as possible.'
(Sue Dixon - Founder of Thinking Child)
Thinking Child supports schools to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children and families.
A great deal of thought goes into all of our resources - to ensure they are creative, practical, affordable and most of all - have a real impact on teaching and learning.
To achieve the aim of working in partnership with even more schools across the UK and abroad we have recently launched The Thinking Child Network
Joining the Thinking Child Network brings a wealth of benefits and advantages for your school:
- All staff enjoy FREE digital access to ALL of our resources
- Huge discounts for the life of your membership, opportunities to influence our future resources and become an active partner in this innovative and lively new concept.
- A Literacy and Numeracy Box as a welcome gift for every school (worth over £300)
- Receive (and write) for the Network newsletter - where new ideas and good practice from around the country will be shared.
All this for one affordable annual subscription. Click for full details of how to join us
NEW RESOURCES THIS TERM
This is the first in a series of Top Tips booklets for TAs - hard copy and digital versions available
TA training and support is to be a major part of our work in 2015.
We offer a Strategic Consultancy package- supporting senior management to develop robust and coherent strategies for the effective deployment of TAs
In addition we will be continuing to offer our successful 2 day TA Literacy Training Days: Sue Dixon Reading & Writing Courses
THE MINI TALES PACK - our latest resource launched in the autumn of 2014. Ten short and manageable stories for Key Stage 2 with a bank of great ideas to equip teachers and TAs to be able to deliver effective guided reading sessions.
All our resources will support you:
to deliver the new curriculum in interesting and creative ways
to support your commitment to help your children be successful, happy, independent learners- what we like to call ‘thinking children'.
to use our ideas flexibly, allowing you to always use your professional judgments to adapt our ideas for your context and children's needs.
Their flexibility allows them to be used
with small groups in the classroom
as independent tasks that are child initiated
as whole class starters/quick challenges or whole sessions
as homework options – involving parents and the rest of the family
IN ADDITION
Our new training brochure for 2014 -2105 is now available. Our training is different - it is designed to be accompanied by at least one of our resources - thus providing 'hands on' ideas that can be used straight away in the classroom (or outside) .
